No Boston Massacre yet
Am I worried?
Contrary to the reports of doom and gloom from ESPN, there are still four head-to-head games between the Red Sox and Yankees, a mere 29 remaining in the season and a six-game lead for Boston in the American League East. Yes, it would be nice to have won last night, but things still look pretty good.

Shhh...no jinxing!
Trying to remain oddly optimistic because the anger and frustration after last year's meltdown damaged me for months ...
We shall not think of that as even being possible again. But we also shall never again say "well, 8 games seems like a comfortable, insurmountable cushion of a division lead," either.
It's very complicated, this reverse psychology + superstition + dashes of gallows humor and gut wrenching fear we are not supposed to actually acknowledge.
