The Safe As Houses Water Challenge

For Thursday, November 15, my household used eight cubic feet of water or 62.4 gallons.

Since November 11, we have consumed 50 cubic feet of water or 390 gallons. We are projected to use 300 cubic feet of water over at 30-day period.

we used 42 cubic feet this week (which included a heavy water usage day yesterday when our plumber was here installing the new toilets and replacing seals and stuff in a few faucets that seemed to be ready to start leaking - so, he used a bunch of water just testing things after he finished his work)

So, we are holding steady right on about 45 gallons per day at our house.

Oh, yeah...I recommend the Toto Drake toilet as do most plumbers on the web and in person that I asked about them. They actually flush! Only one flush needed as opposed to many other low-flow units that seem to require multiple flushes that actually waste more water. No, I have not personally "test driven" a lot of different models.

The Toto Drakes are not cheap but think how long you keep a toilet - our old ones were more than 40 years old. I paid about $280 each for them.

I'm just recommending them - I don't get a kick-back. ;-)
