What's stunning

Linda Zeagler had a letter in this week's Oconee Enterprise regarding Dickens-Gate that focuses on how stunned she was by the silence of those around the girl involved in the relationship with Brian Dickens, the now-dismissed coach from Oconee County High School. That's stunning, to be sure.

Then again, I'm more stunned that the Oconee County Board of Education opted to look the other way for two weeks while Dickens coached the Lady Warriors to a state softball title, got rid of him less than two days after claiming the championships and then acted as if they just oversaw the greatest personnel decision in county history (apparently rivaled only by their brilliant decision to pay two superintendents, one of whom didn't actually work, and then deceive the community about it for several months).
