Serious observations

- I'm not sure what about Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is stellar enough to warrant a slot on American Movie Classics.

- Looking back at the entire series, is it ever explained why Michael Myers is, in fact, damn near impossible to kill? I mean, the end of this movie sees him thrown from a truck, run over by a car and repeatedly shot by a host of police officers, yet he's not even remotely near being dead.

- After all of that and he tumbles down a well, why don't the police drop Molotov cocktails down there to ensure that he doesn't come back?

- Why exactly is he so angry and determined to kill everyone? I mean, really. There's no method to this thing.

- Regarding my third point, if you watch the beginning of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, which picks up right where the previous movie left off, you'll realize that the police did throw a Molotov cocktail down the well, but he slipped out to a stream and swam to safety.

- There's some fine acting in these movies.

- In something we're all eager to see, how will Jamie, played by Danielle Harris, interact with Annie ... also played by Danielle Harris in Rob Zombie's Halloween.

- You know, if someone wanted to do this right, they'd take the Batman Begins route by making him non-supernatural, but employing lots of tricks and deceptions to give the illusion of being unable to be killed.

Dude, are you saying that in previous Batman films he was played as supernatural? Or are you talking about some other character? Because Batman has always been just a rich guy with awesome toys and muscles and bow staff skillz, and nunchuck skillz.

Your lack of knowledge of the Batman mythos makes me cry.

No, no ... dry those tears Russ.

I meant how the most recent one peeled away a lot of the myth around him and showed how Batman achieved the faux-supernatural appearance to the bad guys.

Make sense?

According to Wikipedia, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, the sixth film, provides a supernatural explanation: "Michael at some point in his childhood was chosen by a cult to bear the Curse of Thorn. The cult believes that a child from one family must be chosen to bear the curse and sacrifice their entire family in order to save the rest of the community from death. The curse apparently makes the user immortal and have super-natural abilities. The curse is what makes Michael stalk and kill family members." There's a whole section on Immortality.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't think you were that misinformed as to Batman's abilities. I love me some Batman.

I also love me some Christian Bale; ever since Newsies! Best. Batman. Evar.

And what about Halloween (2 or 3) Season of the Witch?! Myers isn't even in that one, really except as a reference in a newspaper article! That was some cinematic suckage. Although the melting masks on the kids' faces made me laugh.
