Cherry-picking verses

Oh boy, now you've done it Robert Szabo. While I strongly disagree with your assertion that Jesus tells us to, you know, let people die in the desert from starvation, dehydration and heat exhaustion, I would also point out that Szabo, in referencing Romans 13:1-2, apparently forgot to keep reading down to verses 8-10 ...

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

The Good Lord doesn't want you to obey laws which are destructive to other individuals or in direct contradiction to Christian teachings. Now, one can hold certain feelings regarding illegal immigration and one can call for this nation to enforce our existing laws, but it's borderline heresy to suggest that God would advocate Christians not offering assistance to people in need, regardless of their legal status.
